Red Sox and Karaoke

This week was a continuation of last week's fun. Attendance during the discussion was very good, and the discussion itself was lively. Reflecting on the Gospel reading (Luke 18:9-14), we asked ourselves, "Are we acting as the Pharisee or the tax collector?"

Afterwards at PJ's, we gathered in some more regulars. Brad's endurance came through as he belted out American Pie with the help of some new friends at the bar. Paul sweetly sang Daydream Believer, easily besting the performance of everyone else that night. And yours truly, Bob, did his best with the difficult Pinball Wizard. On the TV screens, we watched what may have been Curt Schilling's swan song. Go Red Sox!!

10/18/07

Great time last night... Attendance at the discussion was slim, but the activity at PJ's was lively. Paul channelled Neil Diamond and Erin channelled Cher on the karaoke stage. All the racket generated by the "talented" clientele was made almost worth it by the fact that the Sox game was on.

Thanks to those who made it a great time. Go Sox!

Guys Night Out

Thursday was a guys night out for the group. Reading and discussing the readings for Sunday was Brad, Chris, Moses and me.

Joining us for dinner was Paul and J.D. We discussed the scandal at the College of the Holy Cross. We discussed music ("Why did rock die out in the seventies?"), the construction of semiconductors, the theory of atomic structure, and all sorts of neat guy stuff.
